AFDA National Integrity Framework Pulse Survey – Uniform and AMUC policy changes

Dear Member States and Territories

As you will have heard from recent communications, I have commenced as the new Legal Counsel and Integrity Manager at AFDA.  I am in the process of reaching out to each you individually, but as I am only working 2 days per week this is taking place progressively. For those that I have not yet spoken with, I will be in touch in the new year.

I have prepared a short survey and it would be greatly appreciated if you could complete this as it will  assist me in understanding the current position of each State/Territory’s integrity framework understanding and application, as well as providing an opportunity to note any preferences, concerns or feedback about the way the national integrity framework is being communicated and whether members are being sufficiently supported in the process.  A link to the survey is here:  https://forms.office.com/r/r20uLyGPZC

In addition to progressing with the roll out and implementation of the national integrity framework through to club level, I am undertaking a review of all of AFDA’s other policies. Further information about the timing and details of the broader policy review will be provided and I’m happy to assist with any State/Territory specific policy revision or linkage that may be required as a consequence. Two specific items to highlight by way of advance notice is in the meantime are as follows:

  1. the AMUC DI and AMUC DII Policies are to be amended to require that state qualifiers are held no later than 8 weeks before AMUC DI is scheduled to be held (up from 6 weeks). This will bring AMUC state qualifier timing into line with AUC and will apply with respect to the 2025 tournaments;
  2. the Uniform Policy is to be amended to reflect a logo change from Ultimate Australia to AFDA Australia (per the example below). The Policy will require full transition by members, clubs, teams etc from the Ultimate logo to the AFDA logo by 31st December 2025. As of January 1st, 2026, the Ultimate Australia logo will no longer meet the uniform criteria for the Australian Ultimate Championships.

These policies will be amended in the new year as part of the broader policy review and communications attaching the updated policies will be circulated to all stakeholders at that time and posted on the AFDA website. We are bringing these two specific changes to your attention in advance so that everyone has as much notice as possible about these changes.
